This is a work-in progress post, which I am keeping published as I work on it.

Goals:

  • About 150 items over time, maybe made over the course of 5-8 years. (So that the cost of the sewing machine goes to <$1/garment with use.) ⁃ Most things mix and match with anything else. ⁃ Layerable for different weather conditions, moods, circumstances. ⁃ Easy to care for - hand or machine washable, nothing requires regular dry-cleaning. ⁃ Natural fabrics like cotton, cotton canvas, linen, wool, tencel, silk, raw silk (silk noil), hemp, and blends of those. ⁃ Play with sheerness, transparency, translucency, color. ⁃ Mostly androgynous or subtle/simple, to fit my personal style. ⁃ Of a quality level and aesthetic similar to the slow fashion-ish brands I’m interested in.

Things I don’t want to make (or exclusively make): vintage jeans, hats, shoes/sandals, knit sweaters, socks, bras, underwear.
