All year I’ve been wearing a washed silk tank top in a golden yellow, a bit oversized, with a low scoop in the back. Over and over, often several times a week. Mostly as an under layer for sweaters and shirts, and alone as a tank top in summer or for biking uphill. I wanted to create something similar in a thicker silk, in a darker color that went with the rest of my clothes.

Drafted a pattern for this version, a bit modified to fit more tightly and work with the fabric I have. The back scoops an inch or so lower than the front neckline, with bias binding on the neck and armholes. I gave it a split hem but might go back and make it a bit more cropped, with a deep 1.5” hem sometime later. I have a thin pink silk from Seattle's Creative Reuse store in Greenwood that I will make another version of this.
