Today I’ve been reading A Monk's Guide to a Clean House and Mind by Shoukei Matsumoto, and it’s been a joy. It’s paired well with The Art of Simple Living by Shunmyo Masuno, also a Zen monk, talking about home and simple and intentional living. Really recommend them both. (Here are some of my other favorite books along those lines.)
When I got home, I moved our guest bowls and plates up with the guest silverware, where some empty jars had previously been stored. Now the things we use most days are easier to use and put away. So many good ways to look at things differently.
